FAQ
The questions we are asked most often.
For anything else, write to us.
What are the bags made of?
Italian calfskin — waxed, patinated or structured depending on the piece — with hand-shaped vine-wood handles and a cotton lining.
Where does the vine wood come from?
From the family vineyards in Chigny-les-Roses, Champagne, where the Gandon family has grown vines since 1625.
Each handle is shaped by hand, so no two pieces are alike; each carries the origin of the vine it was taken from.
Where are the bags made?
Each piece is crafted in Paris by skilled artisans, preserving the natural character of the raw materials. Made in France.
Is each bag unique?
Yes. The leather is the same across a piece, but every vine-wood handle has its own grain, curve and markings — no two bags are identical.
How do I order?
Choose a piece and send a request — one piece per request, no payment at this stage. We answer personally within 48 hours with availability, lead time and price.
How much does a piece cost?
The price of each piece is shown under it, in euros, taxes included. It covers the leather, the hand-shaped vine-wood handle and the work of the atelier in Paris.
Nothing is taken when you send a request: we confirm availability and lead time in writing, and you decide afterwards.
How long does it take?
A piece is made once it is ordered. We confirm the lead time in writing, together with the price, before you commit to anything.
Can I order something that is not in the collection?
Yes. A bag made to your own measurements, or a project outside leather goods altogether — hospitality and interiors, objects in vine wood and leather, collaborations.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes. Pieces travel insured and tracked. Outside the European Union, import duties and local taxes are paid by the recipient.
Can I return a piece?
A piece bought at a distance can be returned within fourteen days of delivery, unused and complete.
A piece made to your own specifications — a special order, or a piece altered at your request — cannot: French law excludes it, and we tell you so in writing before you confirm.
How should I care for the leather and the wood?
Wipe the calfskin with a soft dry cloth and keep it away from prolonged water; the leather is meant to develop a patina with time. The vine wood needs nothing more than a dry cloth.
Do you repair a piece?
Yes. Send us photographs and we answer with an assessment and a lead time. Repairs are carried out at the atelier in Paris.
Can I see the pieces in person?
Write to us and we arrange a viewing at the atelier in Paris.
